Tittle: T2 Good Friday:key competencies Relating to Others.

Good Friday.

In Good Friday I am working in the Cooking and Gardening group. We are making our own restaurant and it is called Good Friday. The key competency I am using is Relating to Others. I am working with my learning team to find recipes and make a recipe book. 

We had to look for recipes on the internet and choose the best ones. We had to choose recipes that everyone would like to eat and with lots of vegetables in it because we are using vegetables from the garden. I had to share my ideas about what recipe was the best and I had to listen to my group's ideas. We had to work together to choose the best ones.

I am kind to everyone in my group and I can say kind words to make them feel happy. I can make sure that everyone in my team is included and if they don't know what to do I can help them and support them. I can show my group how to look for recipes on the internet and how to put a link in our recipe book.

Next Steps:

To take on different roles and responsibilities when working in my group. Sometimes I can be a leader or be the person who shares back and explains my groups ideas.

Tittle: T2 Writing Learning Story.

In writing I have been Learning to...

Pretend I'm a sister, in my conscription story and describe how I felt when my brother got sent to war.  I was using interesting words in my writing like adjectives, verbs and adverbs. For example:

yelled, quickly, suddenly, shocked

I have been learning to check my writing to see if it makes sense and I use capital letters and full stops. I need to edit my writing so the reader can understand my story and think it is a good story.


I have been learning to put my ideas in order. I can put the pictures in order and explain what is happening in each picture. Sometimes I go to the library and Miss Caro helps me. 


Next Steps:

I need to edit my writing so the reader can understand my story and think it is a good story and checking all my work if they mack sense and also ask some one to help if they know what the doing.

Tittle: T2 Reading learning Story.

In Reading I have been Learning...

To ask some questions  that I can use when I was researching about the wars that New Zealand has been in

In reading I have been learning that New Zealand has been fighting in Gallipoli in 1914, in WW1 and millions of soldiers died during the war.

I have also been learning to find information in the book by using key my wondering questions and keywords. I skim and scan through my book to find the words and information quickly. Sometimes I know that the keywords are in bold writing.

I practise my reading at home with my family. My big sister helps me with my reading.

Tittle: T2 Maths Learning Story.

Maths

In maths I have been learning to use a range of strategies to solve problems like place value partitioning,using my timetables to work out division problems, and multiplying the hundreds,tens and ones when I use bigger numbers.

On Friday I did 2 X 25 =?(I Broke up the numbers up into tens and ones).

25 x 2 = (2 x 20) + (2 x 5) 
           = 40 + 10
           = 50
I Know that 25 X 2 is she Same as (20 X 2) + (5 X 2). 

In maths I work together with my learning team to solve problems. 

I can listen to my group when they talk about the problem and think about if I agree or disagree with them. If I don't understand I can ask my team to repeat it or I can ask them a question like "can you explain that again please?"
